Researchers‘ Night 2024 – The monster attracted visitors even in the rain!
30.9.2024 Despite the bad weather on Friday, September 27, 2024, more than 200 visitors came to the Researchers‘ Night at the IPM. Children and adults of all ages went on the monsters‘ trail – and a giant monster awaited them.

16.9.2024 On September 10, 2024, a meeting of the MEBioSys research project was held. The conference, attended by 45 experts presenting the results achieved in the project’s first year, was organized by the NTC research center at the University of West Bohemia in Pilsen (UWB).

16.9.2024 Assoc. Prof. Stanislav Seitl was selected as an ESIS Fellow at the 24th European Conference on Fracture, the largest worldwide event dedicated to these topics, co-organized by ESIS (European Structural Integrity Society) in Zagreb, Croatia, 24-30 August 2024.
Advanced manufacturing revs up in Europe with 3D printing
12.9.2024 The European Commission portal published an article in Horizon magazine mentioning the successfully implemented project Structural Integrity and Reliability of Advanced Materials obtained through additive Manufacturing (SIRAMM). Prof. Luboš Náhlík was the co-investigator of the project for the IPM.
The new NANOMAQ project addresses the issue of nanostructure surfaces
10.9.2024 Roman Gröger was successful in the INTER-COST-LUC24 public competition. At the Institute of Physics of Materials, he and his investigation team will implement a project entitled Harnessing size effects for optimization of design and physical properties of nanostructured materials (NANOMAQ).

New TGA/DSC-MS device for measuring hydrogen desorption
2.8.2024 A new TGA/DSC-MS device (Linesis PT1000 STA + QMS) for simultaneous thermogravimetric and differential scanning calorimetric analysis was purchased at IPM as part of the MATUR project. The equipment was purchased primarily to measure the temperature and kinetics of hydrogen desorption, which L. Král works on at IPM.
