V pátek 3. ledna 2025 spoluorganizoval náš ústav Tříkrálovou konferenci 2025 (3KK-2025). Protože se mnoho témat týkalo kvantové vědy a technologií, je možné, že naše konference byla tou první v roce 2025, který UNESCO vyhlásilo Mezinárodním rokem kvantové vědy a technologií.

Poptávka po elektrické energii neustále stoupá. Nadto je potřeba ji vyrábět co nejvíce ekologicky a ukládat ji tak, aby byl možný snadný transport i následné operativní a rychlé použití. Vědci z Ústavu fyziky materiálů se této problematice dlouhodobě a intenzivně věnují a během několika let se jejich pracoviště zařadilo mezi světovou špičku v oblasti výzkumu.

V rámci projektu MeBioSys byl zakoupen elektrodynamický zkušební únavový systém do laboratoře skupiny vysokocyklové únavy. Jedná se o univerzální systém na cyklické a statické testování materiálů v rozsahu teplot od -60°C až do 180°C. Systém se skládá ze elektrodynamického stoje Instron E20000 a klimatické komory Weiss Technik TensileEvent.

Zvýšení trvanlivosti a odolnosti stavebních materiálů může přinést další výzkum týmu odborníků z Ústavu fyziky materiálů AV ČR, Ústavu teoretické a aplikované mechaniky AV ČR a Fakulty stavební VŠB – TU Ostrava v rámci projektu MATUR. Vědci představili průlomovou metodologii pro charakterizaci materiálů, která odhaluje rozvoj poškození už během rané fáze tvrdnutí cementové malty.
