Investigation of possibilities of strengthening of iron-aluminides-based alloys by second-phase particles
Number of Project | 106/08/1238 |
Agency | Grantová agentura České republiky |
Duration | 2007-12-31 - 2010-12-30 |
Anotace |
Creep resistance of iron-aluminides-based alloys may be increased by a proper combination of solid solution hardening and the precipitation of thermally stable particles. Towards this aim, the exact knowledge of creep mechanisms is necessary. Creep behaviour of alloys strengthened by second-phase particles may be interpreted in terms of two basic concepts: (i) threshold stress concept and (ii) detachment concept. The application of both concepts in an interpretation of creep of iron aluminides is till now very limited and it will be one of the main tasks of the proposed project. The creep rate and its stress and temperature dependence will be evaluated and confronted with the theory. The detailed microscopical investigation of crept specimens is intended to verify the phenomenological conclusions by direct observations. The experiments within the Fe-Al system will také place both with Fe3Al and FeAl type materials with the additions of C, Zr, Ti and B. |
