Anotace
The proposed project focussed on nanostructured thermoelectric materials in {Ti,Zr,Hf}NiSn (half-Heusler) alloys with the aim to optimize thermal treatment and improve thermoelectric properties. The combination of know-how, expertise and equipment from both co-operating institutions (i.e. the Institute of Physics of Materials, AS CR in Brno and the Institut für Festkörperphysik, TU Wien) was a perfect symbiosis with good synergies to tackle the proposed goals of the project. The state-of-the-art experiments provided reliable knowledge on the temperature dependent solubility limits and on the mechanical properties. Together with the results of microstructural studies they were used for the optimization of thermoelectric properties via nanostructuring.
