Ocenění za celoživotní zásluhy prof. Šobovi

Na ÚFM proběhlo 19. 1. 2022 předání čestné oborové medaile Ernsta Macha za zásluhy ve fyzikálních vědách profesoru Mojmíru Šobovi, přednímu světovému odborníkovi v oblasti teoretické fyziky a chemie pevných látek.

Nový mikroskop pro výzkum materiálů

Po dvou letech příprav jsme 19. 1. 2022 uvedli do provozu nový špičkový transmisní elektronový mikroskop. V Ústavu fyziky materiálů AV ČR v Brně bude přístroj se schopností vidět jednotlivé atomy v hodnotě zhruba 40 milionů korun sloužit k výzkumu i vývoji nových materiálů.

Petr Vacek nedávno úspěšně zakončil své doktorské studium a již nyní má jistotu dalšího působení v novém akademickém roce na pozici postdoktorand na University of Cambridge. Tam se zapojí do výzkumné práce skupiny elektronové mikroskopie ústavu Materiálových věd a metalurgie.

Ocenění za dlouholetou spolupráci s PBS Velká Bíteš, a.s.

Asociace inovačního podnikání České republiky udělila Čestné uznání v rámci soutěže o cenu Inovace roku 2020 za Nové typy odlitků rozvlákňovacích hlav, které vyrábí První brněnská strojírna (PBS) Velká Bíteš, a.s. Tento výsledek byl dosažen díky dlouholeté spolupráci s ÚFM AV ČR zaměřené na poznání a zlepšení materiálových vlastností a technologie výroby.

Noc vědců – užili jsme si ji spolu s vámi!

Přilákali jsme především rodiny s dětmi, které se mohly dozvědět nejen to, jak se materiály zkouší, ale pomohli nám i zvolit prvního výherce titulu Plyšová hlava. Jen někteří se snažili z akce uniknout.
