IPM has purchased a new electric car
13.7.2026 As part of the “IPM Alternative-Fuel Vehicle” project, a new Toyota Proace City commercial vehicle with a fully electric powertrain was purchased. The new electric vehicle will be used primarily for the institute’s day-to-day operational and technical-administrative needs.

Our ceria nanocrystals on the front cover of Nanoscale Advances
8.7.2026 The cover of the Royal Society of Chemistry journal Nanoscale Advances (IF = 6.3) showcases the research of Zuzana Šiška and the team within Assoc. Prof. Roman Gröger’s group at the IPM. Their paper, Microtron electron beam enables post-synthetic defect engineering in ultrasmall ceria nanocrystals, was developed through an international collaboration.

7.7.2026 A young scientist from the Institute of Physics of Materials of the Czech Academy of Sciences (IPM CAS), Ing. Petr Miarka, Ph.D., has been named among the laureates of the prestigious 2026 Otto Wichterle Award.
Aleš Kroupa was elected chairman of the APDIC organization
23.6.2026 Dr. Aleš Kroupa has been appointed chairman of The Alloy Phase Diagram International Commission (APDIC) after serving a two-year term as vice chairman.
