For a lifelong contribution to the research of high-temperature materials and as recognition of his contribution to the technological development for a benefit of the society, prof. Václav Sklenička has been awarded by the medal „De scientia et humanitate optime meritis“.
The medal was presented by prof. Eva Zažímalová, the President of the Czech Academy of Sciences. The award ceremony took place in the prestigious premises of the ASCR at Národní 3 in Prague on April 26, 2019. At this occasion, the Group of Advanced High-temperature Materials in cooperation with the Director of the Institute of Physics of Materials ASCR organized a one-day symposium “High Temperature Plasticity of Metallic Materials” in honour of the Honorary Medal holder. The symposium was attended by distinguished domestic and foreign guests.
