Anotace
Ultrafine-grained (UFG) materials processed by ECAP (equal-channel angular pressing) represent the new group
of perspective materials. Despite of extensive research in these materials the evolution of microstructure and its
influence on creep behaviour is still unclear. The creep properties of these materials are studied rarely and the
creep mechanism(s) are not fully explained so far. The motivation of this project was to bring the new knowledge
about the influence between formation of ultrafine-grained (UFG) microstructure and creep behaviour and
about the creep mechanism(s) in materials processed by severe plastic deformation. The experiments were
conducted on the single crystals with different orientations and on extremely coarse-grained polycrystals of
some metals. The better understanding to the evolution of UFG microstructure and creep behaviour can be
useful for broader use of these materials and can contribute to the more effective design of coarse-grained
materials for ECAP deformation.
