Anotace
The aim of the project is theoretical and experimental study of the phase diagrams of the systems for lead-free solder materials, mainly the Ag-In-Sn-X quaternary systems and relevant subsystems, where X=Ni,Pd. These two elements represent possible substrates for Ag-In-Sn lead-free solder.
The CALPHAD (Calculation of Phase Diagrams) method will be used for the theoretical assessment of key ternaries and in the final stage the above-mentioned quaternary systems. Own experimental program will be focused on the equilibrium experiments in solid state, using furnaces with high temperature stability for a long time of annealing. The aim of these experiments is to reach states close to the thermodynamic equilibrium. The phase equilibrium will be studied by scanning electron microscopy (SEM), differential thermal analysis (DTA) or differential scanning calorimeter (DSC) and X-ray diffractometry (XRD). The project is closely connected to the international project COST 531.
