Duration | 2022-03-01 - 2025-12-31 |
Anotace |
There is constant pressure from railway operators to cut costs while maintaining transport safety. This pressure is reflected in the requirements for the delivery of safe railway axles with a guaranteed service interval. The requirement can be met using technologies using internal residual stresses (e.g. induction hardening). However, the current methodologies for designing railway axles fail to work with the internal load, and the predicted lifetimes are thus significantly different from the real ones. The proposed project aims to develop a methodology for determining the residual fatigue lifetime of the axle, including the effect of residual stress, which will provide a realistic estimation of the axle life and allow the design of safe and economic axles with high utility parameters. |
