X-ray powder diffractometer – Empyrean

X-ray powder diffractometer Empyrean (PanAnalytical) with Bragg-Brentano and parallel beam geometry.

The device supports measurements of:

• • phase composition in reflection and transition mode
  • texture
  • stress
  • reflectivity
  • crystal orientation
  • grazing incident measurement etc.

It is equipped with Cokalfa radiation, parallel mirror, Euler cradle, automatic sample changer, variable slits, 2-D detector, beta-filter, micro beam-optics etc… Attachments: non-ambient HTK-16 and HTK 1200 (Anton Paar) high temperature and PhoeniX (Oxford Cryogenics) low temperature chambers.   HTK-16: (tiny strips, powder) 1. up to 800°C: air, vacuum, hydrogen, nitrogen, helium (some combination) 2. up to 1000°C: air and vacuum 3. up to 1600°C: not available   HTK 1200: (bulk samples (10*10*4), powder) 1. up to 1200°C, various gases and low vacuum   Phoenix: (bulk samples (10*10*2), powder) 1. down to 20 (12) K: high vacuum
