On the occasion of the 100th anniversary of Deutsche Gesellschaft für Materialkunde e.V. (DGM), RNDr. Jiří Svoboda, CSc., DSc. was awarded by the Tammann Commemorative Medal.
The Tammann Commemorative Medal honours DGM members who have, as leader of a scientific research group in the field of Materials science and engineering , made outstanding contributions to the field in the form of a far-reaching scientific research or technical development concept. It is awarded only once a year, to an individual and serves as a memorial to Gustav Tammann, who established metallurgy as physico-chemical science.
