Anotace
We studied electronic structure and magnetic behaviour of Mn nanowires and of layered nanowires of FeSi. Magnetic arrangement of Mn nanowires is highly non-collinear. In all Mn nanostructures studied the atoms are in a high-spin configuration with the magnetic moment in the interval of 2.96-3.79μB. Some layered FeSi nanowires exhibit a tendency to the oscillatory exchange coupling.
