The System for TEM samples preparation by argon ions polishing
The Precision Ion Polishing System (PIPS) is used for thinning and/or polishing of samples for transmission electron microscopy (TEM) analysis. PIPS can also be used to clean TEM specimens after FIB- and electropolishing-preparations. This device also makes it possible to prepare thin films even from materials that cannot be prepared by conventional electropolishing methods, eg. porous, composite or ceramic materials.
