Young science enthusiasts from Pardubice visited the Institute of Materials Physics of the Academy of Sciences of the Czech Republic on Friday, 26 July 2024, as part of the suburban Science and Technology Camp DDM Alfa Pardubice.
Within a few hours, they learned what is hidden under the term fatigue of materials, what creep is, and how important the arrangement of atoms is in the material itself. They visited the brittle fracture, low-cycle, high-cycle fatigue laboratories, and electron microscopes as part of the excursion. Eventually, a ScienceShow awaited them, where they could immediately use their newly acquired knowledge.
