Three New Doctors from the Institute of Materials Physics, CAS Received Their Diplomas at the BUT Rector’s Office

On November 26th, 2025, the solemn doctoral and docent ceremonies at the Rector’s Office of BUT saw three of our own doctors—Ing. Kamila Kozáková, Ph.D., Ing. & Ing. Radek Kubíček, Ph.D., and Ing. Dušan Tichoň, Ph.D.—receive their diplomas.

On November 26th, 2025, the traditional doctoral and docent ceremonies took place at the Rector’s Office of the Brno University of Technology (VUT), celebrating not only the achievements of new doctors and docents but also highlighting the importance of science and education. A total of 14 new associate professors were appointed and 55 new doctors who completed their doctoral studies at various faculties of BUT were ceremoniously awarded their degrees.

The festive occasion was marked by four separate ceremonies, where representatives from the university’s leadership welcomed the new doctors and docents. These individuals confirmed their academic growth and commitment to their fields through solemn oaths and the formal handover of their diplomas or appointment decrees. Their academic journeys were often preceded by extensive research, hours spent working with students, and countless hours in laboratories, workshops, or studios—each contributing to the advancement of their disciplines and to the development of VUT itself.

Among the newly appointed individuals were three of our own: Kamila Kozáková, Radek Kubíček, and Dušan Tichoň, all from the Ústav fyziky materiálů (Institute of Materials Physics). Their achievements were celebrated as a significant milestone in their academic careers, marking the culmination of years of hard work and dedication to research and education.

During his speech, the rector of VUT, Ladislav Janíček, emphasized the critical role of technical and natural sciences in shaping the future of both Czech innovation and global competitiveness. He also highlighted the importance of high-quality education and research, which are essential for training future professionals who will drive technological advancements and economic growth.

We would like to extend our heartfelt congratulations to all of the new doctors and docents and wish them the best of luck as they continue their journeys in academia and beyond!
