Prof. Luboš Náhlík became Vice President of the Scientific Council of the CAS

At the Assembly of the Academy of Sciences in March, Prof. Luboš Náhlík was elected by the delegates in the first round to the Scientific Council of the CAS (SC CAS) for the period 2025-2029.

At the end of March, Prof. Luboš Náhlík finished his second term as a member of the Academic Council of the Czech Academy of Sciences (CAS), where he was mainly responsible for matters related to the provision of special-purpose support for R&D in the Czech Republic, technology transfer and equal opportunities. During 2017 – 2025, he represented the CAS in hundreds of meetings at the level of the Office of the Government of the Czech Republic, ministries, or providers of special-purpose support (GA CR and TA CR).

At the first meeting of the SC CAS, he was elected by his colleagues as Vice President for the First Research Area (Technical Sciences). In this role, he will play an important role in many important agendas. In the SC, he would like to use his experience and contribute to the issues of science and research funding within the Czech Republic and the CAS, issues of scientific excellence, or to strengthen cooperation with industry.
