Petra Helešicová received the Rector’s Award

A recent Faculty of Mechanical Engineering BUT graduate, Ing. Petra Helešicová, graduated with honors and was awarded the Rector’s Award for outstanding performance during her studies.

It is well deserved! Since her bachelor studies, Petra Helešicová has been employed at the IPM, supervised by Ing. Lukáš Trávníček, Ph.D. Her master thesis was focused on the fatigue behavior of mechanical metamaterials manufactured by 3D printing – link to thesis here. In this topic, she combined vast experimental work on the fatigue properties of both basic material polyamide PA12 and the metamaterial structures with numerical simulations. The outcome is a uniquely complex description of the fatigue behavior of metamaterial structure that can be used even for quite accurate lifetime estimations. These results are going to be published soon. During her tenure at the IPM, she actively collaborated on the tasks within the project Chemitecture of the Austrian Polymer Competence Center Leoben, our long-term partner in the mechanical properties of polymers.

Congratulations to Petra. We are grateful for her contribution and wish her all the best in her future career.
