Many laptops have a switch to enable or disable the wireless network adapter. First of all ensure that the wireless network adapter you are using is enabled.
Also Wireless Network Connection has to be enabled. You can enable it in menu Start → Settings → Control Panel → Network Connections.

Right click on Wireless Network Connection and select Enable. If option Enable is not listed on dropdown list but option Disable is listed, connection is already enabled.

When Wireless Network Connection is enabled, bubble box with information about available wireless networks appears.

Click on the bubble box or Wireless network icon to show list of available wireless networks.

Double click eduroam to connect to this network.

Because Eduroam is a secure network, you cannot connect without correct setup.

Go to Start → Settings → Control Panel → Network Connections to setup wireless network connection.

Right click icon Wireless Network Connection and select Properties.

Select Internet Protocol (TCP/IP) and and Properties button to confirm correct settings.

Make sure, that Obtain an IP address automatically and Obtain DNS server address automatically is selected.

Click OK button an continue on Wireless Networks panel. Select check box Use Windows to configure my wireless network settings.
Select eduroam (Automatic) in list Preferred networks and click on Properties to check setting for this network.

In the Wireless network properties window select WPA as the Network Authentication method and TKIP as the Data encryption method.

On the Authentication tab select Protected EAP(PEAP) from the drop down list for EAP Type.

In the Protected EAP Properties select Validate server certificate and Connect to these servers check boxes and type string radius.ipm.cz . Select GTE Cybertrust Global Root in the list Trusted Root Certification Authorities.

After clicking on Configure button un-check Automatically use my Windows logon name and password check box.

Click on the OK buttons until all configuration windows are closed. Operating system imidiatelly connects to wireless network. Wait untill logon credentials are required.

Click on the Wireless Network Connection bubble box to enter your username and password. Your user name is login@ipm.cz and password. Logon domain should be left blank.

System verifies logon credentials and bubble box apears again.
Click on bubble box and confirm certificate.

Once you see following bubble box, then you are connected to the Eduroam network.
